Time goes back a few hundred years.

ーーA young boy murmured as he looked at the earth from the sky.

「Marineford state religion has the blessings from the eight gods! Now is the time to spread our teachings to the whole world」

The Pope makes a passionate speech to the believers.

The believers nodded without doubting at the Pope's words.

「Holy Knights! From now on, we will unify this world in order to expand our teachings!」

The Holy Knights and the soldiers who believe in the teachings of Marineford began to march.

「Meline! I want you to perform the summoning ritual as the Saint that you are. This summoning jewel has been storing magical power for hundreds of years. It's also written in the codex that a summoning ceremony will bring forth a hero. Please」

「...Yes, Your Holiness」

Meline received the jewel from the Pope,  then went to the room where the altar is located and placed the jewel in the center.

「There's something wrong with this world... Why is everyone fighting each other... Please, somebody, save us...」

As she muttered this, she poured her magic power into the jewel.

「I beg. For the one who will save this world. I call for the one who will become the hero with the blessings of the eight gods」

At that moment, the jewel shone so brightly that it dyed the room white.

When the light settled, three humans appeared in its place.

They were a man who looked to be in his late teens, a man and a woman in his mid-twenties.

「Huh? Why I'm in such a place? I should have been riding a motorcycle...」

Muttered the man who looked the youngest.

「Hey, Megumi! Are you okay!?」

The man in his twenties was hugging the woman.

「Huh? And the truck that was coming from the front...? Have we been saved?」

The woman recognized the man's voice and stood up while calling out.

「Let me apologize. My name is Meline, I'm the Saint from Marineford state religion. You have been summoned from a different world by my summoning ritual」

「「「Eh?」」」

「I was driving a car with Megumi when we collided head-on with a truck...」

「I was riding a motorcycle when I had an accident...」

「That's right, I called the souls of those who just died when I performed the summoning ritual. Since we cannot call those who are still alive」

「Most likely you have died from some cause in your world...」

Meline honestly told the three of them.

「But if we are dead... Kazuya... is still six years old...」

Then the woman broke down in tears.

「First of all, everyone should have a good rest in your rooms. We will talk when you have calmed down」

The three of them were guided to a room. The man and the woman in their twenties were a couple so they went to the same room.

Then the next day came.

「My name is Hirasawa Yuuya. My family name is Hirasawa and my name is Yuuya」

「So you are called Yuuya-sama? I understand」

「We are Shiina Seiya and Shiina Megumi. Our family name is Shiina and our names are Seiya and Megumi」

「Seiya-sama and Megumi-sama?」

The three people around Meline started talking in the reception room.

About how something is wrong with this world and how all countries are at war.

That even the Pope of this state religion thinks the same.

And how the Pope instructed her to perform the summoning ceremony to summon heroes.

「That means we have to go to war...?」

Megumi was concerned about Meline.

「...It's okay. The world right now is crazy as if we have been brainwashed by something. If we could find out what it is... I want all of you to become adventurers and find out the cause」

「Adventurers, huh...? If so, I think I can do it」

Yuuya became interested.

「I don't think you can become one right away, so please practice swordsmanship and magic training in this state religion first. I want you to learn about this world, so you will have an instructor for such matters as well」

Meline bows her head and request us.

「If it's like then... Maybe we can find a way to get us back to our world...」

「That's true... Kazuya is all alone... Though I'm sure he will be fine with grandpa...」

And so, the three of them trained hard.

「Your Holiness, the three heroes have begun training for the upcoming battle. I also advised them to become adventurers and work as such for a while so they could gain experience in a real battle」

「Umu. You have persuaded them well. It will not be long until the world will be unified by our state religion」

The Pope grinned.

Yuuya muttered while eating in the guild.

「We have to work harder for our real objective...  At least get to a B-rank so we can move freely」

The two of them nodded at Megumi's words.

All three raised their adventurer rank to A-rank.

「If it's okay with everyone I will tell His Holiness the Pope you had a request.  First of all, there is the Illustin Federation, which has several city-states up north. I think it will be easier for you to move if you go there first」

「We understand. You've been very helpful all this time, Meline」

「Thank you, Meline」

The four of them shook each other's hands.

Then the three escaped from the Marineford state religion.
